With some help from a FTE member, I wired my 7 way trailer plug to the Ford trailer wires. I twisted each wire, soldered with my mini butane torch, and applied a wire cap. Since the rear of the truck gets submerged in salt water from time to time, I was thinking about squirting copious amounts of dielectric grease into the wire caps.
I throwing it out there for you folks to tell me what I did wrong.
You could fill the wire nuts with silicone. Would probably last better than just grease.
But, if you are submerging the rear of the truck in seawater, including the trailer plug, the wire connections will probably be the least of your worries.
Had no idea that the word 'feaster' would be found in any dictionary. Thought I was cracking clever. Failed again!
We've got spring break this week and I feel the pull of the desert again. Hadn't driven the Excursion in a month, so got the batteries charged up, washed inside/out and loaded for a week of adventure.
Hope to find a wild flower or two. Pics from years past.
