Let's March! All topics open.
as far as may goes, not sure whats happening.... my crystal ball is only rated for 7 day outlooks...even then i use the term "rated" loosely.
works been in the crapper since jan 1, boss has 8 contracts and all 8 are on "hold" untill further notice. (no issues related to us)
trucks been running good! finally was able to have the PCM re flashed back to stock, galpin couldn't do it, saying the aftermarket tuning on the PCM had locked them out....so a little while later i caught up with a guy who knows a guy over at sunrise and he was able to bring his laptop out and show me how it was done....10 min later all done! after some conversations with the guy at sunrise and 3 different aftermarket tuners they all had the same story more or less....galpin blew me off. eff them i will never darken there doorstep again nor will i at GAS...all them pin heads know how to do is bolt crap to other crap and send it out for paint and stickers.
and dad had semi major left hip revision Tuesday.... after 11 months of being attached to a walker. yes the implant had a long run of 25yrs... x rays over the last 10 yrs were read and reported as "fine" and dad complaining of slightly increasing difficulty walking and pain in said leg..... fast forward to April of last year, comes home after a tough day driving the work truck....next morning cant get out of his recliner!!! after numerous calls with the doctors ( and a nurse practitioner basically saying strait to his face that hes "just getting old and to deal with the pain") high octane pain killers and physical therapy were doing nothing the doctors started letting it slip to the wayside. after a new xray 9 months after pain started (docs never ordered one when pain started) they go "uh oh!" and he magically has a surgery date... when surgen came out to speak with us after his 9 hours surgery ( mind you it was so posed to be 3 hrs) he was pissy saying that this should of been fixed at least 6 yrs ago!!!!!
there was some other issues with various people in the medical field in this whole hip mess.... needless to say mom and dad aint too thrilled with the healthcare system....me im just flat out mad and disgusted with the with some of these udder hacks that call them self's doctors, nurses, assistants....
sorry for the rant folks!
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I got him a new dual-breaker at Home Depot (a replacement for an old Zinsco-type) for $70. Funny how the price goes way up when they get to be called "obsolete". Local pool supply house had the seal and gasket set for $40 (same thing on eBay for $15, but I didn't want to wait). It turns out that the spare bearings that I keep for the serpentine belt tensioner for the 7.3L are the exact correct ones for his motor, 6203-2RS (Japanese-made NTN's with PolyRex-EM grease).
Got it re-installed today, and it's like new again. Do I feel like I cheated a pool guy out of seven grand? Nope.
Since he, Marge and I, and another couple, go to dinner every Friday night, I think I'll let him buy next week.

in the long run its cheaper usually to replace the whole pump as most of the time there 10 to 20 yrs old and the sun has hammered them. good deal on the fix marv! and yes those zinsco breakers are expensive little buggers!!!
now that i think about it... the weathers warming up, the pool pump change outs and pool light repairs should start rolling in.... some years we do a ton of them and some years not as much. pool lights usually turn into a big project as either the cord has swelled into the conduit and wont come out, or the pool water has corroded the conduit to nothing causing a short, ORRR the pool light junction box is a "deck box" which its in the cement around the pool which puts the electrical splices in the water (hydraulics) and rusts out the conduit.
