hello guys have a 2003 excursion v10, when giving gas sometimes i hear a noise, Sounds like an exhaust leak, driving me insane, coming from the front left. i just installed a complete headers back exhaust from banks (huge difference by the way) more power.. noise is still there..
Did you replace the actual headers or just exhaust after headers?
Explain the noise in more detail, is it ticking sounds or just the sound of air in the header itself? Does it happen more when engine is cold or all the time?

yes headers as well, i went with the Banks set up, with the chip. i honestly thought the noise was coming from the driver side header. but still doing the same, best i can describe it, sounds like an exhaust leak, normally does it when I'm giving it gas
Mine has a rattle around 2k RPM mark. I think its either the factory t-pipe resonating in conjunction with an exhaust shield rattle or a loos torque converter cover plate. Gotta get under there and check one of these days.

Jimmy James, check this too. The sheet metal torque convertor cover can vibrate at certain RPMs and give a pretty audible rattle or tapping sound. You can safely pull it off to test drive to verify if the noise goes away, if so then just give the thin cover a slight bend by hand to have it sit differently when re-installed, this will most times quiet it down.
