that is some spring!! :-) Yes I still speak to a couple friends in Italy once a month or so-- My Italian is degrading though-- they laugh with me at my speech-- One calls me tarzan "Ugh we go now- my car- eat cake" but it is all in fun. Have been taking a Spanish class on line but haven't stuck with it very well-- Also trying to learn Braille its hard-- used to pick stuff up so quick-- now it takes forever. I have been contemplating getting a NICET cert for work-- its free and I get a decent pay raise if I complete it-- but ugh it takes so much and is sooooo boring!
Spam is still very big in Hawaii- span and eggs ect- don't know exactly why but a theory is that they couldn't get fresh meat until the modern age and just developed a taste for it. It was very big in the 40's and 50's- now not so much here on the mainland but 20 years ago it was still big in Hawaii.
My dad used to fry it for breakfast.. I never grew to like it much. I couldn't tell you what it tastes like anymore, but I remember not liking it then.
