Bought a spartan locker for the 78 bronco 9". The install instructions are crap. All the pics and instructions seem to be for like a Dana or c clip axle. With the 9" you keep the part of the spider gear assembly that the axle slides into. The instructions say you don't need thrust washers no more but it doesn't really show the 9". I'm curious if you keep the washer that goes between the carrier and the part of the spider gear assembly that you reuse. It seems like you might need it. I'm pretty sure you don't use the washers that the cross pins go threw. It's just aggravating you spend a lot of money on a product and the company can't give out a detailed instruction sheet for each axle they make a product for.
Did you try contacting them directly? The diagram you need might be available, if not, some net search might bring good results, I'm fairly sure you aren't the first to install a Spartan in a Ford 9" (which many old Jeep owners seem to love for upgrades).
I didn't see anything on u tube. I got it installed in the carrier. I wasn't sure if you was suppose to use the washers that go between the spider gear and the carrier case it turns out you can't use it because it won't fit back together with it in
