Below is a list I posted in another thread after a member asked for it. This is simply a list that I have built during my time of owning my 7.3. No matter how reliable and strong our trucks are, ***** happens and when it does I prefer to be ready instead of sitting on my phone trying to figure out what to do next.

I built this list in Excel, so it does not translate very well to the forum, but you can get the idea. It is common problem areas or part numbers and sources I keep on hand just in case. So, lets say my CPS or lower radiator hose goes out, now what? Well, if I cannot fix the problem on site, I go to my list and immediately have the best source (in my opinion) already lined up and get the part sent to me.

Some of the items below are more of a "wish list" thing, but I feel they should be shared anyway.

So that Bosch alternator will bolt right on to the 7.3? Amazon says it will not fit my 2002 7.3

 

Great list! My wife bought the DU-HA under-seat storage for Stinky (on my Birthday), as well as the toupee for the dash. I can't say the Donald Trump dash serves any real purpose, but that DU-HA is a huge help.

My list is simple, Tools (39 piece Duralast kit from the Autozone [life time waranty]), Hi-Lift jack, kit to use for pulling self out of situations, and a CPS incase the original breaks...and the spanner to change it out...

 

 

No, but with a bit of "persuasion" it will fit. The case is a bit larger so the mount for the alternator needs to be ground down a bit, or you can shim the alternator to bring it up. Some go the extra mile and turn/clock the casing to match the stock 110 amp, but I would not make that decision to do so until the alternator is mounted.

It is a higher output alternator that is found on the 6.0 diesel trucks, but not $200-$300 like you see most of the time. Also, I feel more comfortable (maybe false hope) with a new Bosch than just some random Autozoo or O'riely knock off.

 

Ya, the instant I saw that thing it went on my list. Currently I have chains, tools, straps, triangles and dog leashes just randomly pushed under the seat. The storage bin is a must in my opinion.

 

I hear ya, I am in the planning stages of building an overland kit similar to like what Jesser did here.
