Hey guys I'm new here. i was hoping someone could shed some light on what is going on with my vehicle i get an engine code 332. I have a 93 ford f150 inline 6 cylinder. It seems to me someone cut the line of the EGR system that goes back into the intake. if anyone could tell me how i could get the vehicle to stop throwing that engine code i would appreciate it.
That tube has nothing to do with EGR, its part of the thermactor(air injection) system and should have a check valve right where it was cut off and then a rubber tube to that valve in the foreground. There can be no fresh air getting in at this point so make sure that pipe is sealed up.
The actual EGR valve is back behind the throttlebody near the firewall(see pic), code 332 says the valve didn't open when commanded to so check that the vacuum line between the valve and EVR solenoid holds vacuum and that the EVR solenoid is receiving vacuum.
1) replace the EGR
2) get an EGR-delete plug which plugs into the EGR on the wiring harness. This has a 50/50 chance of working
3) Get a tune for your ECU to turn off the EGR

Thank you for the clarification! i will trouble shoot the EGR system in a few days it will be raining pretty hard tomorrow and the day after. Now with me not having that part of the thermactor system is that an issue? what would be the reason for welding that pipe shut like that? i just bought the vehicle a few weeks ago I'm going to replace the mlp sensor this weekend because i got the engine code for that as well. Please be patient if i don't understand basic mechanical concepts. I'm only 20 years old.
Thank your for your time it is much appreciated...

ok thank you i was going to replace the lines for the EGR system they seem very frail. i can snap in half with my fingers when bending. If i do that and replace the EGR valve the engine code will go away?

Yeah, you need to replace those lines that are cracked. You will have a vacuum leak if you don't. If your EGR is connected properly, yes, the code should go away
Well no the codes won't go away unless you clear them.. which is a good idea to test your fix. The check engine light should go off though if your fix is correct.
