SOoooo... Just picked up my 2011 XL about 6 weeks ago. It has since spent 2-3 weeks of that time in the shop. All for EGR/DPF related bs.
Ford are now telling me I need to drop $4k to replace the DPF because they can't get the truck to go into regen mode. I ain't about to do that.
I've been looking around on eBay, and i found a 'kit' from Rudys,
This seems like a much better option to me than dropping $4k into the truck that I don't have.
Has anyone got experience installing this kind of stuff on your driveway? I'm not a diesel mechanic, but I like to think of myself as pretty capable and so long as the instructions are about 60% English and there are pictures I can figure it out.
Also, does anyone have any reviews of this equipment? or have any better solutions to offer?
Several of us have done this, and it is fairly easy and straightforward. Take your time though and make sure everything from the exhaust is unplugged before you try to drop it out. Good luck. I think you will like the results.
