rebuilt 3 speed

Just found a rebuilt 3 speed trans and bell housing with 11 inch clutch and pressure plate out of a 1958 truck with 292. I believe I have a 10 inch clutch and pressure plate on the 54 239 engine in it. I notice the only difference is the 292 trans has a larger input shaft and looks like a hydraulic hook up on the side. Will this work fit and work on my 239 if I just pull mine and put this back in.And can I just pull the hydraulic fitting of since my 54 is not equipped for it. I was not for sure.

Yes, you can remove it. The hydraulic hook up (aka power take off PTO) was for something additional i.e. Winch, hydraulic drive for a dump etc.

I think he's saying the '58 has a hydraulic clutch instead of mechanical?

3 speed trans

Hey guys just figured out that the unit bolted on bell housing is a slave cylinder used on maybe on 59 or 60 y block. Can I just remove the slave cylinder and be alright.

We'll that definately makes my earlier comment null
You'll need all the stuff including the pedal assembly to make it work (off your old tranny & bell housing). You'll also need to replace the pilot bearing in the rear of the crank shaft. Does the new Transmission have the two bolt holes on the drivers side to mount the clutch pedal assembly?
