Well Tom--knowing your appreciation for people who really know their technical stuff, I thought I'd give you the answer from the guy that was selling the White Excursion regarding his suspension modifications

The 6ohno was indtroduced mid year. My buddy bought his ex new and they had both the 7.3and 6ohno on the lot, he actually paid more for the 6. He still owns it
Since yours was built on 10/11/03 it may have the 2003 engine. I cant remember the exact cut off day...but it was around oct or nov of 03 when the 04 engines were installed. The 03 engines had their own demons and some teething to get through hence the changes to the 04 engines.
