No throttle response suddenly while driving
I have a 1988 F350 7.5L 460 that has been quite a mystery. It's latest quirk is I will be driving and out of the blue when I hit the gas pedal, nothing happens. The truck eventually stalls, but cranks right back up and keeps going only to do it again. I replaced the throttle position sensor today. I wanted to do a complete smog delete as my air pump pulley was seizing up. I removed the pulley and ran a shorter belt. I also had a EGR code but I have it blocked off anyway and have a new EGR valve and position sensor so the computer thinks it is still there. I'm not 100% confident in the vacuum it's getting. I am also getting a code 34. Also just for the sake of knowing what new, the entire ignition system has been rebuilt (distributor, rotor, coil, switch, TFI, stator etc etc) and I'm running about 15 degrees advance.
Anyone out there have this weird throttle quitting on them problem? This truck is baffling me!
