Okay, I know the P0446 code is, canister vent circuit failure. I crawled up under my truck and checked the solenoid, hooked 12v up to it and it did nothing, so I replaced it. Still getting the code so I checked voltage at the connector...4v. So I checked it at the PCM...4v. I know it's supposed to be close to battery voltage, so this leaves me thinking the PCM itself might be bad, but I want to make sure before replacing that.
Can anyone tell me the proper procedure for checking this? Does the key have to be on/off, or engine running while checking for voltage? From what I've found the wire should be purple/white and coming out of pin 61 in the center connector of the PCM...is that correct?
Thanks for any and all help! Truck is new to me and I've fixed all the other issues I've come across...just can't seem to get this code to clear and stay gone...and that CEL is aggravating.
