I would not have stated such If it was/has not been effective prior. code is either pcm or ficm based one does not like the other.
as I suggested prior low voltage can set this as well. earase the code and see if it comes back.
cleared all codes this morning and now in addition to the U0306 and The P1000 it is now pulling P0275 - cylinder 5 contribution balance and P0683 - Glow plug control module to pcm communication circut. still thinking it needs flashed?
Just curious, does the PCM have the function of doing a “hard reset” on itself? Like a complete power down and memory wipe that would set a P-1000 is what I’m wondering. If not then the power is being interrupted somehow to get the P-1000 or was interrupted at least once recently. I believe once it’s there it requires a set number of drive cycles to clear and it would be difficult to know if it is a “fresh” code but I’ve never considered how this works before and I have thought it around in circles for quite awhile today.
I believe I remember a P-1000 will persist even after clearing codes like the emission readiness indicators do.
