Code 44 an code34 86 f150 EFI

Got this old truck from a friend nothing worked you guys have talked me through trans problem an getting it running so far i think i got off cheap thanks to all the help from you guys on the forum I cant thank you enough . Started with 7 different codes have eliminated all but these two . Truck starts good an runs good until warmed up according to temp guage in truck then boggs an wants to die an if it does hard to start. I mean its going along fine an just starts surging an if i give it more fuel it gets worse just put it in nuetral an hope it starts to idle ok then its ok for a few minutes then boggs again. I got code 34 an 44 EGr position sensor or pressure feedback egr pfe sensor signal voltage out of self spec limits. an 44 problems in thermactor air control system. Would these codes cause the bogging. I got the truck with no air pump so i bought one an put it on can i just take it off an plug the two hoses coming out of back of engine will this tell me if the problems are with emmissions. It sure feels like not getting fuel but no codes showing that. all input will be greatly welcome Im almost there i think. Thanks Dan The egr valve is rusted on the pipe so i cant see if its working any ideas.

Check your TAB and TAD solenoids on the passenger side wheel well for voltage and holding vacuum, you also have an EGR solenoid there too.You can also check your bypass and diverter valves with a vacuum pump to see if they hold.

Thanks I checked the EVP sensor an it was bad replaced it it runs better but still have both codes . Gittin there slow but sure. What i want to know could these codes make it run that bad or could i be working on the wrong thing if there are no ignition codes or fuel does that mean everyrhing is ok. Dan

Check your fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail. Based on your description, it sounds like you have a loaded filter somewhere in the fuel system. Maybe the dual-function reservoir, it seems to be pretty vulnerable to bad gas loading up its internal filter (I had this same problem on my old '86 because the foam filter on the in-tank pump fell apart and got into the fuel lines!). It was an expensive dealer-only part when I was having the problem, so I just bypassed it with a couple pieces of fuel line. Made for hard starting when parked uphill, unless I primed it by turning the key to ON position 10 times to prime it!

I'm only using 1 tank right now myself. What you have to do is put a piece of 3/8 fuel line hose with two clamps on the reservoir where your fuel and return lines connect to it. While your there check the filter in the reservoir if you hav'nt already. The bottom of it unscrews like an oil filter. You will probably need a strap type oil filter remover.
