You wont' believe this, but I closed the hood today on my 95 Club Wagon when a rag got caught on the latch mechanism as it shut. Apparently it has jammed the mechanism so that the latch will not release the hood when I try to open it. Now the hood latch is stuck and will not open.

I was waxing the hood with a light cloth when this happened and can't figure out how to open the hood. I've pulled hard on the lever in the grill. It moves, but the hood will not pop open. Even had my two boys pulling up on the hood at the same time. No luck.

Any suggestions?

I can't believe that two inches of fabric has jammed the latch like this!!!! Arrrrgh!
