Mine just popped up on Craigslist one day. Stopped by after work and test drove and examined it. Did a CarFax and another report on it to check it out. From the time I saw it and was interested till I bought it was less than 24 hours. Impulse buy. I drive my VW Beetle diesel for commuting and running around (45 mpg). I drive the Excursion for traveling and fun!
it is simple math, I just purchased my 2005 6.8, with 80K on the odo for 14K.
A similar 7.3 would run you 25 grand.
if you run the math just on gas mileage alone you will never make up the difference, throw in cost to maintain, necessary fuel additives for the 7.3 diesel,
the difference in mileage is not enough to offset the cost difference. I am getting hand calculated 13-17 out of my 2005 6.8. highway and cruising the mountain passes in colorado. I am a 5 mph over driver for the most part.
i played the modern diesel game with my 3500 ram, once you replace the first set of injectors on a modern diesel like the 6.0 ps or 5.9 cummins or the duramax anything you ever saved at the pump just went right out the window.
My ram was $2500 a set for remans, I was installing them myself. If you can't or don't want to install them yourself they will set you back $7000 for injectors, lift tubes and labor.
Every modern "high pressure diesel" will eat injectors it is just a matter of time. Even if you get 500K out of the motor you will have spent $12K-20K in fuel system repairs to do it.
I would drive a 7.3 and am looking for a low mileage 2003 dually right now, but you could not pay me to own another "high pressure diesel"
The only problem is BLACK is NOT a color Black is the ABSENCE of color
. the color black is not absence of color.
Black is actually due to numerous mixes of colors so as to absorb and not reflect visible light
Just because humans cant see color doesnt mean there is no color. Light reflects color and some light and the color reflected , the wavelengths humans cannot see. It must be light thats visible to humans
A black object may look black, but, technically, it may still be reflecting some light but so little light as to be called "black." In reality, what appears to be black may be reflecting some light and has color humans cannot detect visually
true darkness is is only with the absence of light
When a tree falls in the woods does it still make a sound if no one is there to hear it?
We are going to need more pictures and details! I see the updated '05 front end and late model rims, does it have spacers behind the rims? Looks nice!
I can get more pcis today of the inside, it is the limited and the only problem is the tore drivers seat, and where they had a child seat in the second row seat.
I got it for $10.5k with 228k miles and a TP performance kit (4 inch exhaust, cold air intake, and adjustable chip to 140hp).
Touch screen DVD palyer in the dash with a backup camera, front hitch.
Yes he did put the 05" front on, but I will be changing it next year to a off road bumper. I want a bumper that can take a hit off road.
It does need new front springs, they are hitting the frame. Seems hard to find F250 springs here in Denver with 5 million people here and all the lifted Fords.
It is one of the cleanest I found for that price. A person had one with only 145k miles on it, but wanted $17k and it had a few problems.
Not sure if the wheels have spacers, will know today when I rotate the tires.
BFG all terrains, about 33's.
