I have a 2000 7.3 but what i don't have is powedered metal connecting rods.. I do not like the gem on top of the fuse box on the 2000. Its alright unless you get a windshield leak you dont know about. You see any rust forming on your parking brake lever assembly, make sure you take a good look, pull the a pillar trim and look in with a flashlight. All depends on how its taken care of actually. Dont care for the carpet material on back of the front seats and the web type map pockets. I changed those out with later model seat covers from the seat shop.
[QUOTE=WE3ZS;16061308] Intermittent use?, I'm not sure what that qualifier here would mean, are you saying that a gasser isn't fit for normal daily driver use?
Based on the OP's planned usage (seasonal boat towing, ocasional hunting, not a daily driver), the gaser might be a good option since we all know diesels don't love to sit.
There's nothing wrong with daily driving a V-10, other than knowing you are inferior to every other diesel you pass. How are those down shifts on sustained uphill grades? I know, I know, your 4.88s are a game changer . . . but a turbo is just plain fun.
There is nothing sweeter than watching my RPMs remain flat and the boost roll on, as I climb a grade with a trailer.
All that said, I am considering a V-10 (likely a 4x4 CCLB with a cab over camper) to leave at the Denver airport in offsite long term parking over the Summer. It will get used 3-4 times, but will sit for 3-5 weeks between trips.

OK, now I understand it better.
And I really do try to not feel any animosity toward all of the deezles I pass on those long highway grades while tooling along at 65 in OD with 11k hanging off the hitch.
I am still looking but haven't found the right vehicle. If I can't find a Excursion I might get a F350 6.0 crew cab instead. There seems to be a lot more of them out there and the prices are significantly cheaper. Thanks for all of the help guys.

I feel your pain, I think I was shopping for almost 3years before I found mine...

I looked for a year and a half to find mine; but holy crap, I never thought about suicide (or buying a 6.0)! COME DOWN OFF THE LEDGE, MAN!
