TPMS sensor

TPMS sensor

I have a2011 f350 and am about to buy new tires. Can the TPMS sensor batts. be changed or do I have to buy new sensors? I have 20" rims.

The sensors are sealed so you have to buy new ones.

No need to change the sensors just because you are changing tires.

He has a 2011 which very well could of seen it's first mile in 2010 effectively making the truck 7 years old. 5-7 years is the typical life span of a TPMS battery.

Personally I would do the same and replace them at the time of tire replacement to save the hassle and cost of dismounting the tires to replace TPMS sensors when they go dead. Looks like OEM sensors are $50 each.

And to answer your question about battery replacement, typically TPMS sensors are sealed and need replacing as a unit.
