Hey guys,
When I try and roll down my passenger window it goes easy for a turn or two and then becomes very difficult like it is sticking but I can get it down with force. It hasn't been too big of an issue but now the driver side is beginning to go. Is there something I should grease up so it goes down more smoothly? I haven't taken the panel off yet so I don't really know what's going on in there. Any suggestions would be very helpful
Take panel off. Using white lithium grease in a spray can with straw attachment, lube everything that move or is suppose to move.
Also check the nylon rollers they might be cracked or broke.
I took my roller assemblies out, wire wheeled them and greased. If you do that, be careful on the install. That scissor mechanism could take your finger off. Lucky I was wearing leather gloves.
Figuring how old your truck is, I'm sure the felt guides are warm out.
So, I'd say first a good inspection and possibly by lubing the window cranking assembly check the nylon rollers that they roll when the window is being cranked up & down.
And like Robert says used the white grease on all those roller guides crank & gear teeth.
Also check the window guide alignment as it is adjustable.
I'd remove window crank assembly and with your hands move the glass up & down and see where it's binding up. It could be the old felt coming loose and getting caught in the track channels.
