O.K. I have had this chattering driver side window for some time. Yesterday I pulled off the door panel and greased all the channels I could find. All back together.
Still chattering but not as bad. What have I missed?
There's a special lube you can get from ford that goes on the felt window tracks. I remember Dan (kwikkordead) mentioning it a long time ago, but can't remember the specifics.
Try using silicone spray on the vertical window felts, it does wonders. Make sure you get the type that dries with no residue, un-like what WD-40 would leave. I believe the spray I used was called Jiggaloo(what a name). Some silicone sprays leave a white stain after drying, so try a little on your fingers and see if it dries clear with no residue. I hope this helps.
One of the first things that I did for my truck was to lube the window tracks because the driver's window was very sluggish rolling up.
That was five years ago now, wow, time flies.
What I used was silicone faucet lube in the track.
Basically a 100% silicone based waterproof grease.
Still rolls up and down as quickly as the day that I did it.
.
I've never had a chattering window, but I'll bet the gear is stripped in your window regulator.
You'll have to replace the window regulator to fix that.
My window would go up smoothly until the last couple of inches but on the way down it would jiggle front to back like a loose track or binding. Once I used the spray all was good. Wait till you see how fast the windows move after you spray the window felts(vertical tracks). I hope it works as well for you.
