custom steering questions
has anyone done a custom steering system on a d44 with hiems and tube? i imagine someone on here has. my ball joints are worn and need replacing. should i just spend the money to drill out the knuckles and run heims?

I am assuming you mean tie rod ends, not ball joints. That or I miss-understood what you were saying.


I have heard of people using the larger GM 1-Ton Tie Rod Ends and DOM Tubing, but never heim joints.

You could drill out your tie rods and do heim joints, but why? What are you trying to gain from it...and heims do require some maintenance.

i just feel its insanely wimpy as it is with the adjustment sleeve and all that. what chevy tie rods would you use for it?

Check your state laws. I'm not sure if it's legal in any state to run heim joints in place of tie rod ends, I know you can't in my state.
