Driver door lock
Anyone know which part I need to replace on my 05 escape. The driver door tries to lock when I push the fob or the door button but it seems like it doesn't have enough "umpf" to fully lock or unlock the door. Hoping I don't have to spend $200 on a door actuator.

The lock actuator is integrated in with the latch. It is not a fun job to swap them out. You could open the door up and find the wiring harness and check for the correct voltage but I would bet it is good. They do get dirty and wear over time. I have seen where people open them, clean the debris out and degrease it and they work fine for years.

Check Amazon if the JY is a bust, there are good prices on parts like this.
I have not bought a door lock off of Amazon yet, but I have bought several electrical parts at reasonable prices.
