IPR pig tail connection

I just replaced my ipr and when I was going to replace the connection I noticed that the oem wires are black w/white and Grey with red strip. My new connection from bob is yellow w/ red strip and purple with brown strip. What color wire do I splice with oem wires? Does it matter? I know soder is best for splicing wire but I don't have a soder gun. Can I use some wire connectors? Any help would be appreciated.

I think you would just line up the connectors and replace one wire at a time so you splice them in the same order in the connector.

Take a look at the old connector that you cut off. It only plugs in one way and take the new pigtail and put it on top of the old one it also plugs in one way. With the wires hanging out of both ends it should be easy figure out the color on which wire to tie into.

Can some one tell me what the connection is that sits above the ipr sensor but below the fuel bowl? (Heater) Is this connection also tied to ipr sensor wiring?

Thank you Scott. Does ipr and heater wiring come together into the same harness?

Ya, they do. All the wires on top of the motor all go into the 42 pin connector over the driver side valve cover.

Well I feel like an idiot. The truck is running but I'm not sure what I cut when I tried to replace the ipr connection with the new pig tail I got from bob. When I first spliced the new pig tail and reconnected the truck would not start. So when I'm looking at the new connection and trying to figure out what went wrong.I noticed the there was another connector that was not connected and it looks identical to the one I cut off. Except this one is tied to the heater connection. I pluged it to the new ipr and the truck started. So now I'm not sure what connection I cut and I can not see where it came from. I'm not sure if it's a wire that was leftover from when I did the aih delete or from somewhere else. The truck starts but seems to take longer than usual. It's hard to explain with out pics I hope I'm making sense. The wire I cut seems to deep into the well or under the spider. Can the truck run with the ipr not connected? I will try and get pics and post tommorow. Sorry for the ramble. Thanks for the pics

The only other connection that is identical the IPR is the EBPV (Exhaust Back Pressure Valve) which is located under the turbo behind the "Y" pipe. The truck won't run without the IPR plugged in. The EBPV will run disconnected but you loose the worm up idle and will have a SES light on.

I did a ebpv delete a while back. So that's why I have the extra wire? Okay I feel a lot better. Thanks for all the help.

Glad to help but without a pic it's hard to say that is your extra wire but probably is if its identical to the IPR.
