Coolant

Well like I mentioned before I'm new to diesel trucks. My dash lite up today saying check coolant additive. So I popped the hood and noticed 2 reservoirs. Is one an overflow? If not do they both require the special orange motorcraft coolant? The one on the passenger side front was at the correct level. The one near driver side is low. I took the cap off and used a flashlight to get a look and it didn't look orange. It looked darker. But I stuck a rag down and it looked orange on the rag.

You'll need to stop by a local dealership and pick up some motor craft orange coolant for your psd. Make sure you don't buy the gold antifreeze.

Both resivoirs take the same kind. One is for the egr, the other is for the motor and tranny.

The notification is for testing the condition of the af not necessarily the quantity.

It can be done at the dealership or by yourself using test strips.

Ok I have probably half a gallon left I will add it then go get it tested. I deleted the egr about 1.5 months ago and refilled that resevoir since I lost coolant when I removed it.. I never checked the other tank until today partially cause I thought it was the same system. Thanks

You have a power steering reservoir, be sure that you aren't looking at that.
