Anyone get this warning on the dash after startup? I checked my coolant level, it was right on the fill line, went to Ford anyways and got a gallon of the "orange anti frezee", put some in.
Now I cant get rid of the warning, eveytime I start the truck its there. I tried reading the manual, if its in there I missed it.
Thanks for any help in advance.
in a perfect world, no... but better to be safe than sorry. At 13k I'd tend to blame the sensor, but using a test strip is the only way to know for sure. If it tests ok, get the dealer to fix it under warranty. If it doesn't, you just need to put in some additive (not a whole gallon of new coolant).
The truck is programmed to inform us that we need to check the pH level of the coolant at specific mileage intervals. Most will see the message at or before 15K miles.
There is a test kit available from Ford parts dept. specifically for the '11 and up 6.7 diesel engines.
I have been down this road. It is a suggestion for using the test strips for ph testing etc. If you go to the information screen and scroll through the menus you will find the page for turning the warning off. BTDT
