Wish me luck
2003 Excursion
It is about 7 hours from me but it looks really good. To run them newer style wheels they have to use adapters dont they? Is that a bad thing to do or are they safe nowadays?

I'm old (school and for real!
) and I just got my first smart phone last month, maybe I'll setup a Fuelly account too someday now that I'm armed with mobile technology!
The Mighty Metro (blue one) is a '94 3 cylinder 1 liter 5 speed with 140k on the body and 80k on the engine. It sports 13" tires (vs stock 12"s) that are 7% taller that I keep inflated to 44 PSI. I have added a front air dam made from lawn/garden plastic edging that lowers the front clearance to about 3.5" and keeps a lot of air out from under the aerodynamically dirty under carriage. Full grille block in the Winter and it has three 1.75' holes for cooling air in the warm weather, the fan only cycles if stuck in traffic and I have yet to see it more than 10 degrees over the T-stat setting of 190. Passenger side door mounted mirror has been removed and replaced with two inside mirrors that cover the same area. I installed a fuel injector kill switch that I use when coasting down the several long (up to 1.5 miles) hills on my commute, the car has manual rack and pinion, power brakes have enough vacuum stored to cycle 4 to 5 times with boos and engine off. It seamlessly bump starts in any gear if you speed/gear match correctly. I do actually keep up with traffic (typically in the right lane, it is Metro so I'm not doing much passing
) and only play my little hypermiling games when it won't affect other cars or traffic, my morning commute is at 5 to 6 AM and the roads are pretty empty then. The original window sticker for the blue Metro had EPA estimates of something like 46 City and 52 Highway.I also now have another '94 Metro (white) that is the super economy model XFi, still a 1 liter 3 banger with 5 speed but Suzuki tweeked them with one less piston ring, 150 less pounds and taller final drive ratio. I haven't really driven this one much yet and only plan to wheel it during the warm weather months as it is totally rust and corrosion free with only 45k miles. (And this one has AC!
) This is the original window sticker from the XFi, I'm hoping to maybe hit 70 MPG with it eventually.
Two liters of whoop ***!

Yeah, 2 bucks covers the motor and will take it about 80 miles at today's gas prices.
I knew the metro's got good mpg. Didn't know it was that high.
Selling the aveo soon in hopes of finding an escort diesel or a clean Mercedes diesel to run wvo
