The way I understand it, Sinister was selling up pipes with no bellows or expansion joints, they all cracked, and Sinister told everyone to **** off, no refunds. The bellows or expansion joint is necessary, because the pipes expand and contract when heat cycling.
PPE makes one also just wrinkle belly with inserts, my diesel guy said that in the woven section is where they fail, stock ones, my PPE has been on for 30k so that's not much of a test, but he was impressed with the pipes.
My passenger side bellow was leaking causing exhaust to come into cab when vent was on. So i bought the sinister diesel ceramic up pipe with slip joints n not bellows. I was very impressed. It also came with a very good warranty and was a breeze to install. Just figured id give you another set up to look at and research. Good luck.
Lots on the Web but if you're trying to determine if yours is bad the quick and easy is to look for soot. It's pretty noticeable. On another note looks like I went with a sinister unit curtousy of my shop.
