I just installed a Bilstein Steering Damper. It was replacing the stock from 2004. After the install I don't feel the steering wheel rock back and forth when going over train tracks.
Anyone know who carries the dual Bilstein setup for the Excursion??
I just replaced mine and went with a NAPA brand. The one I replaced was leaking. The old one had more resistance than the new one. Not happy with it. Trying to find a fix for a vibration at 65-80 mph speed. Anyway it didnt do a thing for the shaking and wouldn't recommend that one. I was looking at the Rancho 7000 but was impatient and got that one.
The fix for your vibration is to find the cause of the vibration and remedy the actual cause. No steering dampener is going to fix your vibration.
I'm thinking I need the same. Rides good on decent roads, but pot holes etc....
What do you think of the RAS system you installed?
I've had the RAS for a while now. I never did tow before I installed it but the difference I felt while driving around and in turns loaded with people is less leaning.
I don't think mine came with a steering damper. I did get the toe set today and it drives much better. He said was toed way to far in. It is less twitchy now. I would like to look into a steering damper. The truck is a bone stock 2000 2WD with no redneck mods.
