My truck build sheet shows my truck has the factory installed tow package. How do I determine exactly what is included in this package? Other than a pigtail/ plug for trailer, and a frame mounted hitch? I believe there are relays in the fuse box under the hood, and a hookup for a brake controller in the cab. My truck has 4" blocks (F350 factory type) at the rear axle, and it does ride like a 5 ton truck, lol.

Option code 535 for the F-150/250 includes:

Class III frame-mounted hitch receiver
Aux. auto trans oil cooler
Trailer hitch/receiver options:

TY, wrvond. That's the kind of info I was looking for. My build sheet doesn't list options, but it does show a tow package, and a HD battery. The wire pigtail does support a 7 wire connector, and it has a Kelsey Hayes electric brake controller installed. I was doing some research, and the rear suspension does include a 3.69" block with an auxiliary leaf spring, so that explains that. The truck had a class IV hitch installed when I bought it with a 4/7 pin connector.
Here's some more information you might find useful:
The base Pickup comes with a 4-wire connector at the left rear of the frame.
Ordering the "Trailer Towing Package", Option Code 531, provides the following:
Seven (7) blunt-cut wires at the left rear of the frame, fully functioning with all relays
installed (replacing the 4-wire connector).
Front Stabilizer Bar on 4x2. Rear Stabilizer Bar on 4x2 DRW only.
Trailer Brake Wiring Kit. Brake controller circuit is labeled and found in the wiring harness
behind the removable panel under the steering
column. In-cab brake controller to be purchased separately. Mating connector for under-dash
trailer brake wire is not available through Ford.
My truck has at the driver side frame rail a pigtail with a gray squarish female connector, but I am unsure at this moment as to how many wires. There was a male connector that mated to the female connector that terminated in a 4 flat/7 round connector to plug a trailer connector into.
The truck side connector had the cover broken off, so I just ordered a new connector Ford PN YC3Z-13A576-CA. It is supposedly the correct part for 1999-2001 F250 SD. The body connector shows 7 male pins, so we shall see when it gets here.
