No hand tight only. The rust is always around the top ring on the side pointing towards the tire. Must get extra spray from the tire. I used a NAPA commercial filter this time and covered in with Rust Check. I'll see how this one lasts.
that area can hold fluid and debris on top of the filter, I have never seen any rust on my filters...but I'm in the south.
I can't believe it but my filter rusted out again. Big mess in the driveway. I won't be putting another motormaster filter on my truck. This one had 3800 km on it in 5 months. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me. I guess I should have learned.
