A gasoline powered vehicle year model 1975 or older is smog exempt. I don't think that any of us on this forum have anything to worry about.
NOTE: this is CALIF DMV reg
Is this a rolling year thing? Back in '90 I had a '67 Mustang Fastback 351 without an air pump. It ran clean enough to pass but wouldn't pass visual. Found a guy in Ramona that had poor eyesight for 20 bones....
I believe that it is Ernie...that quote was lifted directly from the online DMV regs page. You should see it on your registration, assuming you still have the 67 Mustang.
Woody Guthrie wrote a song about 1930s California during the Depression/DustBowl days. "Do Re Mi", the state troopers were on the borders and wouldn't let Okies and others, anyone, enter the state unless they had money. Quite a bit of money. Now the way things are going, they probably won't let people LEAVE California unless they have quite a bit of money, lol.

Nope... but this gives me an opportunity to show off. I've had 7 Mustangs of various vintage. Two were '67 F'Backs. This is the one I was referring to.
I see a mass exodus from California by hot rodders... Nothing like that here in Texas.
The wife and I watch that TV show "Fixer Upper" that is based in Waco. I don't know how many times we have said, let's get out of this liberal wackjob state and head to Tejas. I have spent some time in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio and really like the social aspects of those areas...it's just everytime we are ready to go something happens to keep us here. Hopefully the pendulum is about ready to swing the other way...I read today the Supreme Court just ruled against Obama's plan to shut down every coal-fired plant in the US so I still have some hope that we haven't completely lost our minds.
From what I understand crate engines are built from seasoned (used/old) blocks, so would the date in question come down to the year the block was produced, and the smog specs are for the block date manufacture date? If so bore it 10 over, 20 over,30 over, 40 over then sleeve that puppy.??????
The original poster form this thread is from Canada - The Regulation that he is asking opinions about is from Canada
What you think about Cali or Miss, or Fl or Timbuktu doesn't mean crap for this thread
What happened with a 351 in a go cart in Orange Co New York doesn't count as help
Well Dick if the OP really wanted some relevant "interpretation" he should have asked someone qualified to answer and not made a post on a Ford truck forum. When you post here you get what others want to respond...I am sure that others who have read the posts have gotten as much from them as the OP. Folks try to help, we are not Canadian lawmakers, but thanks for bringing that to our attention.
I had no problem whatsoever when I got mine registered but I do live in a very small northern town. I think it would depend on where the vehicle in question was taken for inspection and how much money they intended to make on that given day and when they see a sucker...lol

That is why people call it " The Peoples Republic of Kalifornia."
