2008 F150 Problems could use help
I have a 2008 F150 with 110,000 miles on it. About a week or two ago my 4x4 stopped working. The switch turns the 4hi and 4low dash lights on and I can hear an audible click, but the front is definately not locking in. On this past Saturday night the low fuel message came on and myfuel gague dropped below E. (I have a full tank of gas for sure). All this didnt bother me too much as they should be easy to fix, and from my research those could be tied to the same issue, but I mostly found stuff out about the previous gen trucks so I was still trying to figure it out, but now last night I was going to town to pick up stuff for dinner and about a 1/4 mile down the road the rpm's kept dropping below 1 randomly and the engine didn't respond to the gas and the truck stalled out. It turned over and I managed to get turned around to head back home and it didnt make it far before stalling again. I turned the key off and waited a min. When I tryed to start it, it cranked but did not start so I let the key turn back to the on position and it kept cranking while not turned to start until I took the key out. I waited a few more mins and tried again and managed to get it home. I have only had this truck for about 4 months and was very happy to get it. Ive had a mustang for a while now for the summer and liked it very much so I wanted my pickup to be a Ford. I do have an old Durango that Ive had that has been very reliable for 210K miles. I like the durango, but I do not like the looks of the ram pickups anywhere near as much as I do the Fords. I would hate to have my feelings tarnished by a simple fix so I haven't given up yet. Anyone have any advice?

The fuel pump is controlled by a fuel pump module. This is a small electrical box about the size of an ice cube mounted to the frame in front of the rear axle, left side of the spare tire.. Has a small electrical plug on it........ These are known to get road salt on the aluminum case and eat a hole thru to the electronics..... I would pull that off and look at it..... I don't see how this has anything to do with the 4 x 4. If you hear the transfer case lock in and you get the light, then I would assume you have the front end IWE controllers "stuck" and not working correctly. Normally they fail in the engage position, but who knows. will post a note below for you to read.
