I'm looking for more power out of my truck (1990 f-150 5.0 Mustang HO motor 5spd 4x4 speed density) It already has egr, smog, and cat delete with long tube headers and true dual exhaust with off road H pipe. I'm looking to hit the 300hp at the flywheel mark. I plan on converting to speed density with the 9AL mustang computer. I have been told the 9AL is actually tunable (correct me if i'm wrong). I plan on getting a set of aluminum cylinder heads edelbrock/trickflow I want to stay around $600 a cylinder head. I will also probably use the stock rockers and roller lifters. What cam would best fit my application? I here the E303 thrown around a lot but I don't think its really truck oriented. Anyone have any ideas?
You mean you want to convert to MAF with an A9L Mustang PCM. That should be the next thing you do as everything after that will require tuning... and that's when things get expensive. For a cam I'd suggest the Comp 35-308-8, all extra horsepower with the 5.0 comes at higher rpms and the more you mod the motor the bigger the bias is.. meaning the motor gets softer and softer at low rpms(2000 and below), so hopefully you got lots of gears in the axles already.

How easy is it to find the A9L nowadays? I have 3.55 gears with 31" tires and the M5R2 i would consider its gear ratios ok but not great.
U4P0 is a good choice, still readily available and not too expensive. If you are wired for an A9L then the change to this is very eays, move 3 pins on the ECU connector and have a tune for a U4P0 with a modified firing order, that is it. It is how I run my setup now. CBAZA Swap / EFIDynoTuning
