I'm Hunter and I just joined the form.
I've got a problem I just can't solve on my truck.
I've got a 1996 Ford F-Super Duty 7.3 Powerstroke 5 Speed 12 foot bed.
So it had stalling and dieing problems then one day crank but no start so put it in the shop and replaced/performed:
2 new battery's
New Fuel filter
New rebuildt bowel
New starter
New CPS
New IPR and coil and pigtail
Took the engine wiring harness out checked every sensor back to the 42 pin plug all good fixed a couple of chafes fixing to rewrap if soon.
Swapped ICMs from matching truck shows to be good.
RPM moves when cranking.
Have a WTS light.
Scanner shows PO605 IPR Circuit.
Ok so the truck will start if I send 12 volts jumped off the battery to the IPR. But the IPR pigtail has 12v coming from the computer?? And the IPR relay clicks and has been replaced.
I'm am so stumped have been working on this thing for days some advice would be greatly appreciated.
If I rem correctly, the IPR gets 12v on start/run, and the pcm controls the duty on it through a PWM ground. Had no rail press on mine,no start. Bad PCM.
