[QUOTE=Johnny Bravo 45;16017694]Not sure what brand I got. I do known that I purchased it through thoroughbred diesel via my email, yet my paperwork says performance machine.?????

Also, When I cleaned the IPR, I found a piece of screen and I also found what I thought was a small piece of green oring or sludge. Also.... There was a bit of black fleks of what..I don't know. Not a whole lot, actually just a small amount of black fleks. I fear that i got one of the lesser valued oil coolers? Not sure. If this helps.... I do remember the cooler cost me $300. Not sure if the price is a good ID factor on which brand or not? But if my luck would have it, when we do move and we are in a emmission testing area, I"ll have to put a new EGR cooler in and then...I'll put a new oil cooler in.QUOTE]

Did you catch in the video he had to remove the IRP 7 times to clean the debris that got sucked onto it?

I think at he's trying to say, is you have to change your oil cooler with a Ford one because the gaskets are coming apart. It wasn't a stock cooler ........that's what is going into the IPR

Most likely you got sold a Dorman brand cooler, they had a problem with early ones with gaskets coming apart. You need to find the source of your green goo......most likely the gaskets from the cover

CRap! I'm hoping that the oil cooler is not my problem. I had changed my oil cooler, EGR delete, coolant filtration system and FICM repair all done when I first purchased this truck 3 years ago and now I"m having cooler problems??? Would an oil cooler start going bad 3 years later after an install?

This is the last thing I need right now. Getting our home ready to sell, I have a 5th wheel that we will have to move, hopefully to our new home. I"m gonna just pray, pray that this repair will hold out. Now, I recently changed my oil and added one full container ( I think 3 qts) of the Hotshot oil treatment. I wonder if that stuff had anything to do with my clog? Either way, I"m going to replace the cooler when I get time. Just hope it holds out. I don't drive her much, so I have that on my side

I know I just changed my oil, less than 1K ago at the end of this summer. Would changing my oil filter again help at all??? just trying to buy some time...if that is my problem.

Ok, after watching this Video, I remember my oil cooler gasket was BLUE. He said in the video that if the blue gasket is either green or purple, it is a doorman cooler. Maybe I"m gonna be OK??? This is killing me, kind of like playing Russian roulette

WHOOO.....Don't get your feathers ruffed up. Lets see if we can get you up and running first. Are your delta's within 15 degrees of each other running at 65 mph for 20 mins or so? Are you monitoring your truck?

I was thinking about that. I have torque for my driod so I can monitor the temps. I was lying in bed thinking that I know the gasket was BLUE for the oil cooler so from what diesel tech Ron said, it should be an OEM, not Doorman. God I hope my memory is correct!

I was lying in bed and I remembered hearing him say that your oil temp and engine temp should be within 15 deg of each other. So, what values on torque or PID's should I be watching once I get her up and running? Are they custom PID's and if so, where can I find the values to put them it.

Thank you guys for the help! I can't tell ya all how much I appreciate it!!!

The debris on the screen and the temp difference between oil and coolant do not necessarily have anything to do with one another. It could be the larger screen under oil cooler has torn and is letting the debris through to the HPO pump and then the IPR screen.

All you know for sure is there was some debris on the IPR screen and this can cause the truck to shut off or not start.

Well if he is on a tight budget,he can always clean up the mess in there and use Ford OEM gaskets, screen and run.....that's if his deltas are good. Won't be the first time I've seen it work
