I've got a friend with a 89 f250 with a 7.3 his truck is in the shop and the so called ford mechanic said his computer went out I'm trying to find him options on fixing it I said get a c6 and put in it what other options can I suggest to him

What was the BASIS of the diagnosis? What were/are the SYMPTOMS that led to your friend taking the truck into the shop?
Seems like a TECA should be able to be found at a salvage yard, car-part.com , eBay, etc.
