so i just recently went on a 100mile round trip drive and experienced the truck damn near leaping into another lane. This occured a couple times when i would hit a pot hole or in the first case a overpass transition plate. I am unsure if i am dealing with bad shocks, or if the front end is needing some attention. I have noticed some cupping on the front tires which are Toyo MT's runnnig 50lbs of air.
I had the same (still have some but it's a 350 cab chassis)
New tires, shocks, and ball joints fixed it up pretty good. From what i saw and felt--shocks first with little improvement, tires next with a bit more improvement, new ball joints did the trick. Now you could have bad mounts (shocks and shackles, sway bar end links, etc--but a visual will tell you that)
No expert but that was my experience.
I will inspect the front end this weekend and hopefully be able to pinpoint the issue spots. the level kit on here is simply a puck and possibly newer shocks. I have been thinking about going to a Bilstein level kit with new front springs and shocks all around.
I noticed this morning a slight pop sound while applying the breaks on the driver side. does this typically point to bad Ball Joints. I am only 9 months into my 2 year Ford premium warranty on this truck. I wonder if the front end does infact need attention what all would be covered as i would rather them tear into than me.
Since you are bouncing and the tires are starting to cup or scallop, inspect the shocks. Even new shocks can fail unexpectedly so never eliminate the possibility until you check.
