Why don't you snap a few pics of the crossmember, how its mounted and how your engine is attached. Hard for anyone to answer with out a visual.

Here is the same IFS crossmember installed on my 56...I would not recommend un-installing the crossmember just to move it an inch. Not only will it be an issue structurally (lots of heat in that area to embrittle the metal) but the notches for the tie rods would also need to be moved. Not a good idea. My recommendation to the OP is to check the wheelbase and to check the square of the frame...if all is good then build the chassis and get on with other pressing issues.

So I had the truck out for some sun shine yesterday afternoon. I have flipped the rear cab mounts over and reset the cab. It looks like the wheels are in the correct spot after all. So now I can move forward. Thanks for all the advise guys.
