hello
I have a 1992 E350 (Cabriolet) I want to change to newer mirrors.2000's era telescoping .I'm sure I will have to drill/fab something but they should be doable? would really like to find a pair that are heated
thanks in advance
Don
Its doable but as Tabijan suggests swapping doors to those designed to mount and best support the 2003 and later mirrors is the smart move.
Drilling, hacking, chopping, cutting etc etc is certainly the cheap way but for the longer term using newer doors is highly advisable.
I've done this but didn't care for the results and honestly it was more work than necessary. Perhaps having already done it I can say don't but in the end that's your call.
I don't believe heated mirrors were offered on the E-Series, not even the telescoping towing mirrors. F-Series had that feature but those don't fit the vans.
