it depends on the depth of the cover. They re the same bolt pattern but if the cover is too deep, it will hit the steering linkage. but with just a cheap chrome cover you should be fine. I suggest looking at Kentrol for a stainless cover
i would not bother, them chrome covers ALWAYS leak. the only way i have ever gotten them to seal halfway decent it to take a grinder to the gasket surface and grind all the chrome off to bare steel.
and then i had to goop the crap out of the gaskets with silicone to make them seal.
now granted this was mostly done on oil pans to stop the leak. i only had one truck with a chrome diff cover come in the shop and it was also leaking.
My Bronco came to me with a chrome diff cover on the front Dana 44. Personally I'd never choose to put one on, but I haven't had any leaks and it isn't very rusty, so it's not giving me any reason to replace it either.
