Has anyone else in the MI, OH or IN area received this letter from Ford? Came Tuesday in the mail. They are offering use of a Fusion while they are doing the testing. I sent the postcard back stating that I am willing to participate. We'll see if I'm one of the vehicles that's chosen to undergo the testing.
The below are quotes from the letter that I received.

This program is completely voluntary. The normal program length is five to ten working days. However, occasionally it may extend longer, we are offering owner's whose vehicles are selected for testing, the following incentives:
• $100.00 cash upon completion.
• Free use of a Ford Fusion while participating in the program. The vehicle will have a full tank of fuel when delivered.
• Your vehicle will be washed, vacuumed, and have a full tank of fuel when the vehicle is returned to you.
• Convenient exchange of vehicles at home, place of business, or at the test facility.
Since the 2011s are dropping off warranty. I suspect Ford wants to evaluate how well the emission systems are holding up. Remember it's a couple thousand dollars to replace that cruise missile under your truck. If they start having lots of failures outside warranty, I'm sure consumer will talk.
As well as document to the EPA that the emissions still meet the design critera that they are being held to.
Ram is doing the same program with the same incentives.
This is probably an EPA mandated or at least significantly encouraged program. As well, it might be something the lawyers are forcing the companies to do to ensure they don't have a VW incident.
I got the letter too, but it was within the first year of purchase if I recall (well ahead of the vw scandal...lol)
It's not unusual for people within an hour of the Detroit area to receive the request.
I declined, since they couldn't supply specific dates, and the vehicle offered wasn't going to pull the fiver.
I should add Daimler has a similar test lab in Ann Arbor, MI that does the same, customer owned, emission testing and has been there at least 15 years.......
