I think I want to build a tank to put in between my transfer case and rear axle which I measured and it looks like I can fit about a 20 gallon tank there would any of you have any recommendations on how to do it or have you seen any one do it before?
I was going to have a guy make me custom one built from SS but then he became worried about may be getting sued for some odd reason that his bubby mention to him so he backed out. He said something about If it did not meet some safety specs.
He was just a guy who that did fab work for a company.
I may end up have one built to fit up against the inside of the bed 35-40 gallon backed up to the cab. As that would give me 350-400 mile tank driving range.
Having a 4wd you never know went your going into some back country and you'll need enough gas to get back.

Looking at your lower windshield channel gave me some hope that mine won't be as bad as I'm thinking it would be rust wise. What makes you want to put the tank at the t case and not in the rear? You would probably need a custom one built for there or hunt around for one that fits the measurements needed to fit there.
I had the same issues with having a guy do some work on my steering knuckles he didn't want to do it because of the reliability factor if it fails. I can't blame the guy for turning it down with all the people now days that would file a lawsuit if things went wrong even if they knew the risks beforehand. So I'd say that's why the guy wouldn't build the Stainless steel gas tank for orich

At the high school I go to we have a plasma cam that I can cut the layout on and all of the breaks and welders that I would need if I make my own for that spot and plus it would be a lot cheaper to build one than to buy one
If you got access to the tools and material needed to build it yourself that's a great way to save on money. I went to a career and technology school during high school and made anything I could at the time.

That's what I figured and would you know what Guage of metal I should use to make it?
