Is this.......

Is this the port for a EGT probe/thermocoupler?
I was messing around under truck, and found this. There is only one, and its on the drivers side.

If not it's missing a good chance to be one......I guess what you'd need to know is the thread size of that port and the probe/thread size of the EGT sensor you were going to try and put there.

I'd be spraying a ton of PB Blaster before I tried turning that bolt!!!! But - I agree, it sure looks like someone had a probe in there at one time!

Thanks guys, for confirming my suspicion.

I wouldn't take it out, I would just remove the cap on it and find a sensor that would fit it.

Mine is threaded directly into the manifold..... I thought that the whole bolt would have to be removed......

I've had unbelievable luck with a product called 'Kroil' for rusty bolts, FWIW. It's between that and a 50/50 mix of ATF/Acetone. The results are truly hard to believe.
