So, finally got a new phone, loaded the forscan app, and drove off to Belgium. Ficm volts varying 44-48 most of the time, plus ficm fault code, injector faults, plus ckp, cmp.
Ficm definitely needs attention but what's the best plan, replace, repair or what? Any other signs that could narrow it down before I tear out?

Any pointers gratefully received!
Pretty basic stuff as far as the electrical side.
Get the batteries and alternator tested , this way you know what killed your FICM. And replace accordingly, then get your FICM repaired. But you being in the Euro area, I have not clues as to who you would want to work on your FICM over there.
several guys have repaired the power board themselves by soldering the board... plenty of reading on that subject, do a search.
Others have sent the unit to Ed at FICMrepair.com and have had great service. he does a bang-up job, you can search his site for details.
Some buy a new unit from Ford ($700) or replace the power board themselves from various vendors.. I would stay away from Dorman, heard good things about TechSmart.
If the logic side needs repair, I've not seen anything except to send it to someone for repair or buy a new unit.
Your limited on who can do the work... basically send it over here or do it yourself.
Got it! Looks like I can give the resoldering a try at the weekend, got all the gear back home, and look at 2 new batteries. Alternator kicking out 13.6V so should be ok until I can test it the following week.... I hope.
I'll look at board prices too - something that size won't cost too much in shipping
I replaced mine with a reman unit the first time. It lasted a smidge over 13 months, just outside the warranty. I then started looking for alternatives as I didn't want to drop hundreds repeatedly. I found the TechSmart board and it had good reviews. I figured I'd give it a try for a little over $100. I also did the DIY repair first before putting this unit in to make sure what I did worked. It did, it took about 20 minutes of soldering, very very straight forward if you follow the procedures in the tech folder. I then put in the TechSmart and put the DIY repaired board in the box and on the shelf for a spare if I need it. I've been running the new unit since early December and it's been great. The truck runs better than it ever did with the reman unit.
Also look at improving your voltages with adding a ground from the drivers side frame rail to the block. There's a thread talking about that. It's a cheap and well worth it upgrade. Here's the thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...batteries.html
Thanks, good info, need to look at that board. Earthing is something I've been thinking about and that thread is just what I need to give me the kick to do it. Need to look at that as well.
Got some research to do tomorrow if I have the time. AmEx will be happy, me not so much
To limit your downtime, we can also ship you a replacement unit on an exchange basis in addition to just repairing yours. While we are at it, we could also load custom software on it that will make you love your 6.0 all over again!
That is an interesting offer as I was looking at an atlas 40 on an otherwise standard motor. What cost am I looking with shipping to Germany included?
Also, how long will mine last in its current state? Difficult I know because I only just spotted it, and what should I not do while waiting - currently I'm doing mainly long trips with the odd short haul.

I responded to your PM with all of the pricing details, but to make it last as long as possible while you are waiting, I'd suggest plugging the truck in for at least three hours before you start it each morning and even then letting it idle until your oil temp comes up a bit.
