Flood Ford ESP - legitimate?

When I picked up the pickup, the dealer wanted to sell me a 3rd party service warrantee. I have not had good experience with 3rd party warrantees, so I said no thanks. He did not describe many options from Ford, however I find that Ford offers a comprehensive service plan that can be had for 8 years and 75K miles, $200 deductible and seems quite reasonably priced - from FloodFordESP.com. Seems like a legitimate Ford dealer, they have been mentioned elsewhere on the forum but I haven't found any claim to have bought one from them and found it to be genuine. Have you? Are they?

The Flood is legit ESP from Ford as is the one I bought from Zeigler.

Check with Zeigler if you need to finance. Ford offers 8 year and 150,000 miles. The years is from the "In Service" date of the truck (the original sale date to the original owner).

I just bought from Zeigler and it was about $175 more for 12 months 0% financing....

OK thanks. Looks like if you pay cash Flood is a bit cheaper. At around 1/2 the list price, it seems like a must have! My '99 7.3L racked up all of $250 repair charges in 90K miles. But the complexity of this 2015 Lariat is a bit daunting. I am imagining even an average repair costing more than the ESP.

Not a fun check to write and when I get closer to my 3/36 expiring, I'll probably pay off over a year too. But we will see.

When I purchased my truck, gave my dealer a chance to match the online sellers. They declined when in the past always matched. They will not get a second change to match. I'll never again purchase an extended warranty until I'm close to the end of my base warranty. It's always possible I will sell the vehicle near the end of base and experience the pro-rated rebate from .

I would never own a 6.7L without some warranty coverage in place. (ESP, MBI). Lots of expensive parts on these trucks and I am not a believer that expensive trucks never break. Expensive trucks break and they are expensive to get back on the road. Seems to take dealers longer these days to get them running again too.

I am in the same boat as you my_crib_too I am almost at 31k and 14 months of ownership. I drive my truck everywhere so I will hit the mileage mark on the warranty before the time.

I have been debating on buying an ESP because I am pretty sure I will jump into the new SD. I have sat in the new F-150 to get a feel for the cab and dash layout since it is the same and I really like it. All of the tech stuff I wanted like the digital dash display is what I wanted in my current '15. I also had my eye on a new RAM because it does have all that but decided on Ford.

So my dilemma is I am going to hit 36k by March and the new trucks will not be out yet. I don't feel that I'm gonna have a problem with the truck but I would still prefer to have a warranty while owning it. But if I pop $1,500 on a warranty I would probably keep my truck for at least another 2 years before i trade it in but that may not be a problem since by then I will have some equity in the truck.

My other thought is just let the 3/36 run out and wait on the '17 to hit the lots. That problem is the negative equity in my truck may be about or more than what the ESP is lol.

Tough decision........

Don't overlook your state's 'warranty of merchantability' laws or something similar. It seems 80k-100k miles is the norm.

FWI the ESP is transferable to a new owner. Might make it easier to sell/more desirable if a warranty were included. Don't know how that would work on a trade-in

Look up vehicle warranty of merchantability for your particular state. There should be plenty of info and probably a link to the attorney generals office. Here is some info for Md.
