Thanks, Travis and Mark. That's what I thought, but I don't know how a torque converter works exactly.
Byron, I would think at 65 mph your converter should be locked. So either a) something is causing it to unlock or b) the locking mechanism is broke or slipping or whatever.
Ok guys, got home a little bit ago from another John Wood visit which was a good one. I'll make a long story short if I can. He had a new built trans with a much different (better) converter in it. He had the swap done and truck on the road in about 3 hours. He found the converter to be burnt...seriously burnt. Whoever he had building them, who is no longer doing so, had done something messed up and the forward clutch was rubbing on the housing at disengagement, thus causing heat and etc, etc....I hope I am saying it all right. Anyways, my point is that John once again went over and above to rectify it and made everything right. He even fixed the hoses going to my external cooler since one almost had a hole in it from rubbing on an edge. He didn't like few things the trans was doing, so in went a new built one. As soon as I went down the road I could tell a major difference. TC lockup now feels like another gear and not a slooooow lockup, if that makes sense. Shift points are much better and it really transferring power MUCH better. All this to say I am very happy and felt very fairly treated. Stuff happens. That's not the issue. The issue is how a business owner handles it and John did so above and beyond. So end of story.

Yet another vendor we should support! That is service at its best!
That's great Byron! Just wondering, doesn't a TC have to be cut open to check it out? That's probably a dumb question, I never saw anyway to open it up.

Glenn, yes you are correct. He did cut it open. Not a dumb question at all. I would have wondered the same thing.

Haha! Yeah, it is a consideration. If I don't get what I am asking, of course she stays. I just need to think on it some more.
Yeah Nick, it was and has been above and beyond what I am used to seeing and hearing about. I really hope no one misunderstood my concerns before. I was worried about the outcome and it was completely unfounded as John has proven once again.
