How to replace speedometer drive gear?

How to replace speedometer drive gear?
I have a 75 f250 4 speed with an NP205. I've got the driven and drive gears on order. How do I replace the drive gear? Do I need to take off the rear output shaft seal, or can that stay on?

cable speedo
I believe its the 16 tooth gear ,just compress in and snug up holder,,,There is another post just down from this one ,where Bill and Scott go over this app.
