2015+ auto window down/up feature?

On the newer trucks now both the driver and passenger side windows can go down with the touch of the down button and this feature can be turned off to make it so that you would have to hold it to make it go down and stop at any height you like. But now it has the auto feature to go up also so just hit the button up it goes auto when you try to stop it it's real touchy to stop and it will start to go back down. Does any one now how to turn that feature off it doesn't turn off when the down feature is turned off. The reason I ask is if a child (that should be retrained anyways) or a pet (in my case) had it's head or body part out it it could get pretty ugly if the window went up on auto.

Good to point out. But It must have an auto-stop when it detects resistance, no!? I mean, regardless of what options you have turned on or not.

... My friend's mother closed my head in a window when I was a little kid. This was in the 80s, doubt it had a safety stop, but luckily the window motor was no match for my thick skull, lol. That sucker did hurt a little though.

No need to worry, they are very sensitive and will go back down if they hit anything. A lot of people even have problems with in channel window visors. No it cant be disabled from what I have read

This was true in my case. Never could get the in channel visors to seat correctly. Returned them and got the old fashioned stick ons.
I wouldn't worry too much about a person or animal getting caught in them. If the OP has questions, try sticking a pencil or something through the top of the opening with the window down and then try to close the window. It doesn't have to meet with much resistance to go back down on it's own.

The manual (hand-crank) windows need this feature IMO.. I know I was threatened more than once as a kid to shut up or ELSE ...

If Windows have auto up feature then they are required to have ant-pinch protection. Same for MoonRoof.

It goes opposite of your normal thinking but to cancel the auto function without reversing the glass, push the button a second time in the same direction. If the window is going down on auto, push the button down to stop it.

And it does have anti pinch. You can test it by pushing down on the glass with your hand.

Essentially, once the glass is moving, any button press should cause it to stop moving. Again, the same applies to the MoonRoof. This is typically called 'panic stop'.

Concerning the problem caused by the 'in channel visors' - it should be possible to 're-teach' your window motors after the visors are installed to eliminate the 'false reversals' caused by the visors. It is worth asking your dealer. If he services the window motor, he likely has to do a 'teach' procedure.

I will have to test it with an object to see, I'm not putting my hand in it to test it. Thanks for the info all.

Object that you stick in there must be at least 4mm. That is the requirement - 4mm or greater. In other words, if you stick something skinny and flat in there, like a ruler, it might not detect it. I believe 4mm is intended to represent a small child's finger.
