Question Pass Window - auto down ?

Anyone been inside the driver's side window switches area to see if a person can swap out a new driver's side window switch onto the pass window harness to make it an auto down as well ?
Any other way to make it happen ?

I really like the auto down windows on my wife's chevy and wondering if it is an easy mod on my new Ford.

Subscribing. I was JUST thinking about this on the way into work when I was lowering all 4 windows at once. I want one touch down/up on all the window switches. Just looked on Partsguyed's site and they're $50 a pop.

I would do that to all 4 of the DRIVERS window switches... the rest of them I never use

That's what I meant in my post. I could care less about the convenience of my passengers, they didn't pay for the truck.

This functionality is one of the changes to the 2012 model year. I wonder if you can simply order the 2012 model year switches when they are available and then replace the ones in our 2011 model year trucks with them? This could be an easy swap out for to get the auto down and auto up functionality.

Is it that simple or does it require a re-programming of the BCM?

I really don't know. I was hoping someone more experienced in this technology could either validate or correct my question. I was just throwing the question out there.

If I could get a 2012 switch assembly I would just try it to see if it works. I think the risk is low that I would burn something out.

Same here. My Pacifica has auto down on all the windows from the drivers side only. I don't think I have seen a auto up yet, seems to be a safety issue. Don't want to cut off a kids hand.

Subscribing. Passenger window and auto down only for me, if given the choice.

Probability of having the feature on all 4 windows from the drivers seat is low. The function will likely be built as part of the switch circuitry, like it is now and will only be for the front windows.

If it is able to be done, this will be the most likely way. Just going to have to wait till Ford releases the wiring schematics and/or the parts are released at the dealer level. Probably a couple more months...

For '11 the one touch down feature is built into the switch its self and does not appear to be a module controlled function. I can only assume it will be the same for '12...

It's interesting how my wife's $32,000 2001 4Runner has this desired feature (both up and down) yet in 2011 even for $60,000 we can't get the same on an American designed vehicle.

Sounds like a good idea. I will give it a try next week, unless someone beats me to it....
Now I just gotta figure out how to take apart the door to get to the back of the switches. Tips or instructions ?

I pulled the panel out on the rear drivers side door. Lift up on the rear part of the panel and pull up/back, very easy to remove. I'm assuming the driver door is the same.
