Looking for a source or supplier for the o rings between the 4x4 lockout and the hub
mine are both torn and need replaced.
they are no longer available from ford.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm pretty sure the Ford locking hubs were Warn Standards, so O-rings from Warn will probably work.
dropped by my local spicer supplier who also sells warn hubs and person behind the counter was willing to sell me new lockouts and stated o rings weren't serviced separately. I don't believe this to be true so if someone happens to have a part number I would greatly appreciate it.
4wheel parts wholesalers also sells a 1/2 and 1 ton hub service kit.
Their website is a bit misleading though, in that they use the same photo for both kits, and in the photo you can see the package labeled as 1/2 ton for each service kit. So, be sure to get the correct one, and don't go by the picture. 1/2 ton service kit is the cheaper of the two.
I know it's not correct, but if you are in a pinch then silicone will seal up your hubs just fine. My '95 was slinging grease all over my wheel and down the side of my truck, so I sealed it up with silicone. Been holding fine all winter long.. Maybe some day I will find an o-ring replacement, but for now it works just fine.
